General Operative

Location: Burton upon Trent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 14:30
Pay Rate: £12.83 per hour, increasing to £13.24 per hour after 12 weeks
Contract: Ongoing

We are recruiting a reliable and motivated General Operatives to support operations in Burton upon Trent. This role involves assisting with the preparation, loading, and delivery of materials to residential properties, working as part of a small team alongside a driver.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel with the driver to designated warehouse and delivery locations

• Assist with loading the van with required materials, including:

  • Large caddies

  • Small caddies

  • Rolls of bags

  • Leaflets

• Assemble packs correctly and ensure all required items are included

• Deliver and place materials for customers in line with guidelines

• Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, efficiently, and with care

• Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with members of the public

• Show respect for customers and surroundings at all times

• Follow health & safety procedures and manual handling guidelines

• Report any issues, damages, or shortages to the driver or supervisor

• Work effectively as part of a team while also being able to use own initiative

Skills & Requirements

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Reliable and punctual

• Physically able to carry out manual handling tasks

• Good attention to detail to ensure work is completed correctly

• Respectful, polite, and professional when dealing with customers

• Ability to follow instructions and work to set standards
